I have a client’s shop to rebuild using only the footing of an his existing foundation.
The concrete outfit will demo out 1 course of 12″ block and the slab placed in the interior to expose the remaining 1 course of block, which steps up to expose the bare strip footing. Then they’ll slab over the whole thing fresh and new.
Can you guys feed me some rec. on how to have them attatch the new slab to the old footing and partial remaining course of block? It’s easy enough to place metal down into the remaining block, but are there any alternatives to drilling and epoxying into the footing?
In this locale there will be a special ($$) inspection required to epoxy in threaded rod or rebar.
How far apart should these connections be made, also? 4′ center? The new slab itself to reinforced with a 4′ grid of #4 rebar.
Thank you,
Pat
