I have recently looked at a home I am interested in. My main concern is the floor on the 1st floor uneven and there is a slope to it in many areas. The house is a slab construction, and also is on the water but sits up a hill. There are no cracks anywhere on the cinder blocks througout the house. Is this a concern? and can it be repaired – and not too costly.
thanks

Welcome to BT Jean
No cracks? ----- I didn't think that was possible in concrete.
Uneven slab on grade is quite common.
There is self leveling cement on the market that works quite well as long as the low spots aren't too low.
If they are a filler of fine concrete works well to get it close then use --or have done---- the self leveling stuff
not real cheap but not over the top expensive either
How much slope and unevenness are we talking about 1/2" in 35' or 2 1/2" in 12'? If the slab is not cracked it sounds like it was built that way. I also get the idea that the house is a cinder block house? Doesn't really sound like quality construction although I know that in the deep south block construction is much more common and acceptable...
If you are truly interested, why not get a home inspector? They take some flack around here but having someone with some qualifications lay eyes on it is always gonna be way better that what I can see from here. :-)

So now we know your soft spot!
Yea - I knew I might be stepping on some toes there... I did qualify it with "although I know that in the deep south block construction is much more common and acceptable..." and I was also referring to the fact that it sounded like she was saying that the one she was looking at was all out of level which I'll bet $500 yours is not. I've seen some killer block houses in FLA, and I also know that your house is very well constructed.
