I am looking for ideas regarding slip resistant stair treads. Previously for an interior application I have mortised solid rubber strips near the tread bullnose with success. However, this application is an exterior retrofit on pressure treated treads. Itis a northern exposure that promotes moss and alge buildup. The homeowner does not want them painted. One of my concerns is drainage and rot, should I elect to mortice in say rubber or alluminum strips. Any suggestions?

Do you think you would get a good bond with boat deck glue down abrasive strips?
