Have a very small 4 foot by 6 foot 1/2 bath with an Al rail suspended ceiling and those 2×4 ft fiberglass panels, was easiest for that space when we built the house 35 years ago. 13 in dia. light fixture/vent fan combo inthe middle of the ceiling.
DW says next project is to replace it as grandkids slam the door and the panels flop. No window in the room, 10 foot ceiling with 6 inches next to ceiling with pipes from 2nd floor bath, present suspend is at 8 feet.
Thought have been everything from a solid maple vaulted ceiling (bad scale factors for aesthetics) to the industrial ‘bare pipe’ look (DW veto) to a sheet of ply with painted sky mural.
suggestions?

Take a look here: http://www.armstrong.com//resclgam/na/ceilings/en/us
USG also has a drop ceiling products, but Armstrong has a better site.
You may want to go with a 2x2' grid in that small an area, or even one of the hidden grid products. As far as the tiles popping up when the door is slammed, there are "butterfly clips" that snap on the top of the grid, above the panels, that will solve that issue. They could be added to the existing grid for that matter, and then just refresh the whole system with a coat of paint.
Any acoustical supplier will have the clips. They are more commonly used for vertical and angle transitions to hold the panels in place, but I have used them for the problem you are experiencing.

2x2's like Dave sugested in a raised panel look...
