My local HD has a lot of stuff on sale. It is the stuff they are clearancing out, and won't carry anymore. Make sure you buy lots of accessories to go with whatever you buy, cause they aren't gonna carry them anymore either.
Some very good deals on a lot of stuff.
James DuHamel
*Yeah, I heard they had the 12v B&D Firestorm drill for $39! I know it is what it is, but still... $39! I plan on checking it out this weekend...Andy
*If you're snowed in, Home Depot is currently running a store on ebay for their clearance items- scroll almost to the bottom of ebay's home page for link to HD's complete listing.http://www.ebay.com
*Didn't impress me. Some things are reduced but its not as much of a reduction as I usualy get on things that are last one clearance items, displays, etc.Worth looking around if you're there but don't get too excited about it.Mike
*Just bought a GE $198.00 basic white dishwasher (for the cabin) for $107 + tax! Item was marked down to $177.00 then they took 40% off. They had some great deals on fancy faucets.
*The one near me is clearing out their stock of Amana router bits-some over half off. They are replacing them with Oldham.
*I have a friend who works for Generac (generators, compressors, pressure washers, etc) who says HD is clearing out 4000 watt gennys at below Generac's cost- $499. I think I smell a new genny in my future..
*Well, that's what that was, a sale. It sure was short! I went in for something small, took a look at garbage cans. Cool, they are down as low as Lowes. I'll buy 10. Get to the register. Had to be the guys first day. Came up the same old high price. After 5 mins screwing around I got my cans for tagged price. went back in at quitting time. Back up to the old price! Guess the computer was too fast for the sales staff. Do they still match lower prices?
*Went today and picked up some 54" Greenlee flex bits, regular 27 dollars, marked down to 11, then got 40% off that, so I can't complain. Also had a cheapo BD orbital sander for $24 but didn't get one (yet)
*Happened to go by our local HD today so I dropped in. Big sign saying 40% off on items marked with a yellow balloon. Walked into the tool section and there was one yellow balloon on a Delta chop saw. Walked up a couple of other aisles and didn't see another balloon (maybe some kids popped 'em all...)
*Just came from there, found a few good deals. Some landscape lighting fixtures, a stool for my workbench, a 5 gal. pail of primer/sealer, and a 9.6v B&D cordless drill with 2 batteries. Not my first choice, but only $30! $30! Won't be for serious use, but good for the odd hole, or for pre-drilling for screws. $30.00!!!It probably differs from one store to the next; they seem to be getting rid of things that didn't sell, plus discontinued items. My local store had Andersen NarrowLine windows at -40% on the ones in stock. Seems they aren't going to stock them anymore, but will still order them if you want.
*Local store was real shy on yellow stickers on anything of actual use. Bunch of stuff that didn't sell I guess. Thought I had a 58" Greenlee 3/4 bit, but SORRY this is not on sale after waiting in line to check out. It was in the yellow sticker hole, but NOT on sale. What was supposed to be in the hole was a 1/4" bit for bell wire I guess. So wasted half an hour and got pissed off too. Ace is the place at least has free popcorn. Joe H
*Im snowed in here , and I aint got no HD any way. Thanks for the link. Also, was at Lowe's the other day, and I like Mike look for the yellow close out tags, found a good one: Five pack of Milwaukee Sawzall blades consisting of 2 axe, and 3 torch blades for 3 dollars, bought three packs.C
*Mine was confused, but we got a new 1100 watt microwave for $48. Andy
*Went yesterday. Nothing of any value was on sale. There was not one item on sale in the tool area. The only thing worth looking at was the pile of odd pella and anderson windows for 40% off. Some bottom line appliances and dented items. Other than that we saw nothing. I'm going back to Lowes, I knew there was a reason I switched. I can't believe how dirty and nasty our local HD is.SJ
*My HD experience was pretty decent. Picked up the PC 19.2V saw/drill kit for $135.00. It was missing one battery. I already have another PC 19V saw. I was really on the lookout for deals on the batteries and wanted to get an extra charger. I figure I did okay, since the regular price of a single battery and a charger is about the price I paid for the kit, and I have another saw and a new cordless drill as gravy. I also found an orphaned battery and charger at one of the other locations for $10. Not too bad... Mike
*I think it is really a crap shoot. My father was at another location and he had several choices of refurbished nail guns etc. that were great deals. Did he feel the need to purchase, no of course not. I've got to just get him my shopping list of wants!!He always mentions things like "I was at Spag's the other day and saw a PC framing gun for $169.99 new, I was going to pick one up but I wasn't sure if you wanted it." Damn, buy first ask later, return if needed. Geesh.SJ
*I just went to the local HD today. No only did they not have half the items I needed, but the sale items were useless crap and debris dropped on card tables at the ends of the aisles.
*My HD now has started tagging certain things at 60% off, "red tags"... only thru tomorrow though. Didn't see anything too interesting, but I may stop back tomorrow for an extended look. My HD always tends to get picked over pretty quickly, so I doubt I'll find much..Andy
*Builders level w/tripod for hundred eighty bucks...discounted from $450
*HD just doesn't seem to have the stuff that Lowe's does, but Lowe's has avoided head-to-head competition with HD here in Arkansas, locating in midsize cities. BUT Lowes is now building a new store directly across the street from an established HD in Little Rock -- doesn't bode well for HD if Lowes has that kind of confidence!
*Spags! Now that brings back memories...
*Hey, don't laugh at my B&D orange thing. I mentioned to my dad one eve. that a errant 2x12 cratered my Makita cordless drill and the the next time I saw him he gave me a brand new Firestorm. (It has 28! torque settings, but only works on one) Well, it was better than nothing and I'll be damned if it hasn't lasted a year so far with some serious mismanagement. I've been trying to break this thing. Clutch is finally making some noises.
*Mongo - You liked that one huh.Good old Spags. One of those stores you walk into with absolutely no expectations and you are always suprised by what you find.SJ
