Wondering what the reason might be for the way the fixture in my bedroom turns on EVERY time.
Light fixture/ceiling fan combo. 4 60w bulbs. about 4 years old. Everytime we flip the wallswitch to turn it on, it does….then immediately dims to maybe 20% brightness…..before coming right back up.
No issues once it’s on…but wondering why this may be happening. I don’t believe it has done this from the begining….but I have been noticably aware of it for the past few months.

Might be a dumb question, but did you put in CFL's recently?
(permission granted to smack me up the head if I just insulted your intelligence)
LOL....no. No CFLs
The light does have an internal dimmer which is controlled with a remote control and not the wall switch, if that helps with a possible cause.

You cut off the kid's teevee?http://www.tvwsolar.com
I went down to the lobby
To make a small call out.
A pretty dancing girl was there,
And she began to shout,
"Go on back to see the gypsy.
He can move you from the rear,
Drive you from your fear,
Bring you through the mirror.
He did it in Las Vegas,
And he can do it here."
Probably a kludgy designed dimmer. Many of the fancier standalone dimmers have "soft start".And I suspect that is a feature of your remote. But those fan/light remotes systems assume that power is aways on and that control is done with the remote. Thus when you first flip the power on the remote is confused for a second and starts at full power, then goes through it's soft start cycle..
