Software modelling for radiant systems
Just got back from a class on thermal modelling for radiant heating and cooling systems…now this is very cool stuff!
What we are looking at is two heated pipes mounted on rigid insulation bearing on soil.
With the radiant design software to calculate the comfort condition loads, tube spacing and fluid temperatures and the modelling software it makes it easy to see and predict what could possibly occur during a steady state or transient condition.
There are North American tube manufacturers that now offer this as a service to thier customers…would recommend anyone shopping for radiant to ask if this is available.
I know we’ll be requesting it on behalf of our clients and making it part of our future design specs.

that's pretty cool ( hot )
do they have a pic of the same without the insulation under the tubes ?
Whose software is that?
I'm still ticked that there wasn't enough people signed up for one of your classes west of Ontario. Maybe next year.
Mike, once I have this mastered I'll put up a few more applications.
Rich, for more details contact Tim Doran at Wirsbo in Apple Valley.
Where abouts in Ontario? I just did a three day certification class in Toronto and Sudbury and am heading to London, Ontario this afternnoon to do another. We'll also be doing a seminar at the Great Lakes Conference on Control Panels.
We'll be doing a lot of training out east this and next year - it would be great to meet you so stay tuned as they say!
Cheers,

I'm in Sask. Toronto was just too far this year. Maybe next. Cheers.
Here's the staple up....notice the surface temp inconsistancies...by the way the training was provided courtesy of Uponor Wirsbo...a quantum leap in technical support - Thanks to Mr. Tim Doran, Gary, Ryan, Him Li, and Elaine and the entire design team in Apple Valley - it was great to go back to school to become the student once again!
