I only get here occasionally. Don’t know what you’re talking about. If you make a mistake it will be pointed out. If you offend some one they’ll let you know. Until then stick around.

Listeners write in about haunted pipes and building-science tomes, and they ask questions about roof venting and roof leaks.

Seems I talk a bit too much. And since much of it is just storyin' it's none too well appreciated.
I just wanted to apologize to anyone I've offended. Now I'll button up fer awhile.
*Hey Luka, If you wouldn't have been storyin, How would some of us ever have found out about Hardwicks?
*Luka... you're not yet legendary... chill out some...MDM... if it wasn't for Luka, I'd have never known why JB won't have me over! Seems he's got this list, one-of-a-kinds that Hardwicks has...
*Huh? I was just noticing that your posts were interesting and/or entertaining and wondering if you were coming to PeteFest. Did someone say something? Wha'd I miss?Rich Beckman
*Luka,Everyone here yaps too much (bunch of Breaktime addicts!)...so don't worry about it. Ya fit right in!And yeah...what did we miss?Gaby
*See the sweaty toilet.
*Seriously? I don't see the problem.Rich Beckman

*Who'd you tick off?
*What are you talking about, Luka? Everyone yabbers too much, and we all occasionally (and for some, not so occasionally) tick people off. So?
*Ok, I meant to reply to this yesterday, but didn't have the time left.Yes, I recieved a stanky e-mail. I trashed the e-mail of course, but had thought about making a reply so I saved a couple quotes from it. "Can't you shut up for 5 minits ?""people come here for advice. Not p**s por comic riters crying for atention.""... if you can't anser the question shut the f*** up." "...you talked more than (the original posting person)"Basicaly, in a page and a half of ranting there was only one point that seemed to make any sense or to be pertinent. Repeated in several different soups of rambling personal abuse and/or not so creatively strung lines of cuss words, it amounted to this: "This is a forum where carpenters and thier customers come for advice, and to answer questions. You are new here, what you have to say is of no value, therefore, you are not welcome." This, of course, is a very distilled version, minus all the bad spelling, cussing and personal insults. I got to thinking that if one person said it, more probably thought it. I made this post to find out whether there were any validity to the opinon. Or, more to the point, whether there were any others who felt the same way, how strongly so, and what proportion of the visitors it would be. Shortly after posting and seeing the sorts of remarks youse all made, I decided to keep posting. My thanks to those of you who took the time to post replies here. I appreciate it, and taken together, your statements amply overbalance the muck of the one. Thank you. :-) One last. I am now sure that if I step on anyone's toes, talk too much, etc, youse are not the sorts to ruminate and grumble, but to let me know right away. I still want to make it clear that anyone who gets a bone in thier craw over anything I write is always free to say so. (Just as I am free to apologize, ignore you, or to tell you where you can stick it. LOL) *The people all at once yell, "Oh no, we've created a monster" !!*
*Ahh screw 'em! Jeff
*Luka,It is a shame that some peoples social skills go straight into the crapper when they are blessed with the anonymity of the internet. I can't remember reading anything from you that would deserve a ranting personal e-mail. If it was the quantity of your posts or perhaps ramblings I can think of several here who have their moniker up more than you.I enjoy reading and sifting through the wheat (and the chaff) this site offers. There are aspects of my vocation that I would never be concerned with, considering my location, but, nontheless, in order to enhance my professional knowledge, I'm grateful for the exposure to the variances in construction practices and necessities. And it's all in real time where the information can be immediately useful. In the short time I have been posting to this forum I've seen some folks who really have their act together. I'm just astute enough to recognize talent when I see it (or hear it) and literate enough to understand the topics raised for discussion. Unfortunately, (or not) I'm not predisposed to jump in on these conversations, preferring to be the proverbial wallflower. Besides, by the time I even think I might want to "jump in" I've thought too much and the party is over. Real time, with so many articulate, knowledgeable participants is real fast. So, you just keep on jumping in there and don't pay any attention to the grousing or the mean spirited malcontents and I'm sure you will either learn something or teach us a thing or two.Comments? Ralph
*Hi Luka,Hey, I liked you from when I first saw your name--reminds me of a song. If you get any further nasty e-mails from this person, let the sysop know. Also, some domains have rules, (and I'm sorry, I don't know what the postmaster@domain_name.com general addy is), but that info is out there somewhere--you can get a person kicked off for certain types of harrassment. Remember, there are lots of folks who read this forum who also have power nail guns, shovels, and big@$$ frying pans, not to mention cement products, deep holes in the ground, and hot grease, as well as flowers to adorn the top. (JUST KIDDING!)
*Kai,...reminds me of a song. You think he "lives on the second floor"?That's the first thing I started humming when I saw his name a few days back...even inspired me to put in the CD as well!
*Mongo, I don't recall the lyrics, but if he is a scarred or scared soul, he doesn't need any more of that from us here. Amazing how souls touch souls, eh?
*did he give you his head size?...maybe we cud send him / her a hat...as James wud say...just a thought
*Now that that's settled....Luka, You coming to the Petefest?Rich Beckman
*Luka, whomever did that is a - never mind. I don't get into name calling. Let's just say, ignore them, and their e-mail. I've read nearly everything you've posted, and you are nowhere even near being offensive! Obviously someone has nothing better to do.Why do people do that, anyway? Does their life suck so bad that they have to spend time making pointless and unprovoked attacks on other people?
*I was once passed this bit of Breaktime wisdom a while back, think maybe Joe D or JB sent it, but anyway, I send it to you, Luka:i no illegitimi carborundumliteral latin to english translation: "Don't let the bastards where you down"Have fun. That's half of it.MD
*Jeff, should I use toilet seal wax on them screws or will plain old fashioned ear wax do ?CLS, just what I decided was the basis for the e-mail. Some people don't have a life so they try to pretend to have one by trying to ruin everyone elses'. LOLRalph, GEEEEROONIMOOOOOOOO !!!!!!Kai, to put any of the latter remedies to use, I/we'd have to be there physicaly. If I were there physicaly, trust me, there would be no need anymore. LOL As for the former... I think that there will be no more from this particular person, and from now on, it'll be a lot more simple to just hit that delete button. I have no use for retribution. :-)Kai AND Mongo. I like the song as well. Used to have the cassette, but have it no more. I may someday be able to get the cd. If so, I will. I actualy used to live on the _3RD_ floor. 'Nuff said. (And all I will say.)Mikie, is that hat made from silicone grease covered tin foil ? I really need a replacement, thanks for the offer. BTW: I wear a HIS size. hehe More bigger for all these extra brain cells.Rich, Nope. Most probably not. A small and fixed income does not lend itself to travel. :-)But I will be there in spirit, and I am hoping there will be some sort of way for all us stay-at-homes to 'cyber-visit'.MD, Thanks. I won't. I promise. Carborundum, 'eh ? I gots sawblades made outta that stuff. They do a lot of whining too. LOL
*Luka, Don't go anywhere, unless it is Cleveland in August and don't take some slug slinkin around in the shadow of anonimity seriously. Skip
*Toilet seal wax. My brother-in-law , who was a plumber in training for a few weeks gave me this tip...wax ring wax is works real good for stoping the bloodflow when you've got a deep cut! Never did ask him exactly how/why he found this to be true, but I'll take his word for it. So, definitely toilet seal wax, just incase! Jeff.........what, someone said you ramble.....I never noticed for some reason.......I ever tell ya about my crazy Aunt.......
