The new house we are planning will have an entertainment(read TV) room next to a music room (read Stereo & Piano) They will most certainly be in use at the same time so we have designed seperation walls & ceilings to be sound isolated.
DW now wants a glass panel door between them so one can “keep in touch” with the others side.
Does any one know of glass door products that will effectivly dampen sound transmission.

Walk down any airport concourse headed for the gates, and those big glass windows you are looking out are glazed with laminated glass. Laminated, almost like your car's windshield.
Laminated glass, with the right lamination layer, can be very effective in lowering the sound transmission of the window as a whole. Step out through the door of a jetway, out where the workers are wearing big earmuffs, and you can experience it.
That all said, we now have a unique product search for you. Find a way to get an interior use glass door made with heavy laminated glass.
Good luck!
Done a bunch of buildings in which " secure" rooms were included. these rooms had to be isolated from the outside world when the door was closed. part of that was accomplished with a thing called "automatic door bottoms" these seal the gap under the door on closing.they were to prevent sound transmission. they can be installed on a common door.
