I HAVE FINISHED STIPPLED CEILING, AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT SOUNDPROOF BETWEEN THE UPPER AND LOWER FLOOR, WITHOUT REMOVING THE STIPPLE CEILING
EITHER A BLOW IN INSULATION-OR SHEETS OF SOUNDPROOFING MATERIAL THAT GO ON THE CEILING. WE WILL BE ADDING 5/8 FIRE GUARD DRY WALL WITH THOSE METAL TRACKS THAT SOUND PROOF AS WELL. WE WOULD LIKE TO GET AS MUCH SOUND PROTECTION AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE WE ARE MAKING THE BASEMENT A RENTAL SUITE. ANY HELP IN FINDING MATERIAL OR ADVICE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THANK YOU RAY ROY, CANADA

Turn off your CAPS lock key. It is hard to tell what you want when you are SHOUTING !!!
Where is the stippled ceiling? In the basement? Really need to know more info. if you are going to put the 5/8 dry wall on top of (actually below) the basement ceiling, I'd recommend a spray foam insulation. The installer will drill small holes and spray it in.
