Anyone know where I can get a 2″ or 3″ (wide) paddle (also called spade) wood boring bit? Actually, it is to be used for boring through 8″ thick AAC block, but found that wood bits work OK – just cant find one that big. The holes need to be bored for vertical rebar reinforcement. Then some loose pea gravel concrete will be poured down the holes.
A hole saw won’t work because of the depth of the hole (8″) and I’m not too keen about the prospect of burning up a $40 forstner bit.
PS: AAC = Airiated Autoclaved Concrete – lightweight concrete that cuts/drills, etc like wood. It is a relatively high R-value building material.
