Does anyone know where I might find the steelironeven aluminum pointed ridge pieces that are used in many public places to keep people from sitting on the surface they are installed on? Most I’ve seen are usually somewhat decorative and maybe 1-2″ high.
I sure do ask about some bizarre stuff don’t I?

*check with your wrought iron sub. http://www.outwater.com has lots of wrought iron accessories you could have put together for your application.personally, i find those things distasteful, but then again, i don't own any buildings.
*Michael - If it's on top of a railing it's called 'loafer's rail' in the trade. The local iron shop, as noted, should be able to get it for you.Jeff
*Mike, If you leave the hotel zone in Cancun you see that a lot of houses have backyard masonary walls with broken bottles and glass shards embedded in mortar on the top of the wall. Then you can go on a snorkeling trip with all the alcohol you can drink.I was amazed at the different sense of liabilities. *If you travelled Europe or Latin-America prior to the mid-50's, you would have seen walls with broken glass in them to discourage prowlers virtually everywhere.
*Jeff, Hey, thanks for the proper terminology. That will be useful when looking for it.Others, Yeah, I've seen the glass shards embedded in concrete when I was in France and Russia. Ominous to say the least.Mi
*Uh, how about providing a proper or acceptable place to sit nearby? The best thing I have seen was in Oakland or SF I think. A park bench with a hinged seat. It was down during business hours and was up and locked with a hasp in the evening. Sort of works.
*A bit off the topic, but wanted to clarify that the glass on top of walls isn't usually set as shards, but intact bottles. To celebrate completion of the wall, a length of rebar, or whatever is available, is used to break the top off all bottles, leaving the sharp glass shards...
*Mike,That must a fine house your building pictures where are the pictures....
*QED, Thats interesting as I always thought it was a barrier or crossing deterent and it sounds like its more of a wall "topping off" ceremony? Cool.Ron, Pictures, you want pictures? I've shot over 770 since we started. I can either scan or get some digital and post them here if you like?Judy, You should post it on the main part of the board and not as a followup to another post or folks won't see your request unless they read the entire thread.Mike
