I need to find a source for the vinyl glazing gasket used on my P.O.S. Caradco double hung windows. This is a u-shaped flexible vinyl gasket that wraps around the perimeter of the 5/8″ insulated glass and fits into a channel in the wooden sash. Painters painted the original gaskets and some were damaged by the paint thinner used to remove the paint. Caradco (Jeld-Wen) switched to “wet glazing” last year and now cannot provide the gray vinyl gasket. I have spent hours searching the ‘Net for a supplier and cannot find any gasket that is sized for 5/8″ glass. The local glass companies have been no help. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You might try conservationtechnology.com
Best of luck.
Don't know for sure, but here are three possibilities:
http://www.bbmc.com/bbmc/weatherization/weatherstripping.html
http://www.aresource.com/weatherstrip.html
http://www.die-gem.com/extrusionsampleprofile.htm
The last (die-gem) might be able to run one for you.
ANOTHER GOOD REASON NOT TO HAVE BOUGHT "CRAPCO" WINDOWS. I WOULD SERIOUSLY THINK ABOUT REPLACING YOUR WINDOWS WITH A GOOD ONE. YOU WILL NEVER HAVE THE PROBLEM AGAIN
