Any of you fellers ever used a pneumatic spike nailer? I remember seeing a Stanley gun
sometime back that shot up to 6″ ers. Advice? Cheap used guns somewhere?

Earl what are you putting down? had some friends driving 60 penny spikes on a deck a while back and they rigged a small jack hammer with a head for driving those 60 penny bad boys on down. Skip

Skip, I build equestrian cross-country jumping courses- lots of timber retaining walls,
pole construction, logs, etc. I surfed around some last night and came across the
Danair line of palm nailers. They claim the 16-70, 16-75 and 16-78 series will sink 12"
spikes. My question is: how fast? I have driven 12"ers with a 12 oz hammer... but that
takes some time and elbow, and I'm getting old and impatient! Anybody?

You would actualy want to drive a 12" spike with a palm nailer ???
Talk about inviting nerve damage.
Find yourself a nice short 1 1/2 to 2 pound sledge...
*Earl, no kiddin time and elbow with that 12oz hammer. You da man. Best of luck.
