I also posted in the General forum. Any feed back on the difference in hvlp spray eqipment when comparing Cambell-Hausfeld to Fuji, as in the Tool Crib Catalogue? I need to spray some cabinets we built, and I don’t think my nail gun compressors have the CFM’s to keep up with a conventional spray gun, plus I am worried about the over spray, as we are working inside the house. I do realize that you generally get what you pay for, but I won’t be using the sprayer that often to warrant a huge expenditure. I would appreciate any input. The finish is a painted finish, not stained and clear.

what are the odds once you have the sprayer you fill find other uses for it, such as stain or clear?
so I'd buy quaility from the get go if it were me.
the CH units suck.
I've heard good things about FUGI never used one.
I like the Graco 3800 we have at the shop, it seems to work real well.
I own an older CH spray gun (got it as a package deal with my CH compresssor), a Fuji Q4 and a Graco ES190 for spraying latex paints.
I have used the Fuji to spray a lot of wood and am every happy with the results. Purchased the Q4 to get more power to possibly spray latex paints, but I would recommend the Q3 instead if you plan on sticking with urathanes, varnish, etc.
The older (traditional) CH gun has a lot of overspray. Never tried the HVLP conversion guns, as I understand they require more CFM at 60 or 90 psi than the average home compressor can handle.
Hope this helps.
Does anyone know if 'ganging' an air tank in line would regulate enough to handle a spray gun?

Dave, I bought a CH HVLP about 10 years ago just to see if I would like it. Paid 180.00 for it at Lowe's. It has sprayed paint and lacquer in a most satisfactory manner every time I use it. I recently bought a newer model for about 300.00. They do a good job for my purposes.
I don't use it every day by any means but when I do I am very pleased. I recently did a 65,000.00 stained glass replacement for a church and all the wood on the inside was oak and on the outside was KDAT pine which was painted white. My old unit did a marvelous job on both.
