Planning on building a shop attached to the garage, 20′ x 26′, 2×4 walls, radiant heat in the slab. Wondering about fiberglass vs. spray foam insulation. Will I notice the difference, both in heating/cooling bills and comfort?
Thanks,
Paul

Skim-coating with joint compound covers texture, renews old drywall and plaster, and leaves smooth surfaces ready to paint.

In Iowa, with 2x4 walls, you are definitely going to want spray foam. What is code for wall insulation there anyway? Here it's R21 and we don't do any 2x4 exterior walls. Expect to pay 2-3 times as much as FG but you will probably recoup it in lower energy bills.
