how long do you think I should leave spruce flooring in a house to climatize before I install it. I have always thought about a week.

As a painter I always recommend 2 weeks with the heat on before I will touch a wall, wood or plaster. So I use that rule for building materials as well. You may also want to spread it out or sticker it a bit. You can always test it for moisture.
While there is no set rule, ideally you would monitor the moisture content and try to match the MC of the sub floor closely.
Depends how dry the flooring is, how warm the room is, what the weather is like..many variables
I'd Wild guess..2 weeks, with SOME heat in the area ( or a frozen tundra at 2% RH).
edit...I see I got beat to the punch...ok also, welcome to BT and some info in your profile can help immensly..like where ya live?
