i have lived in my ranch house since it was built in ’93, the floors are squeaky or like a cracking noise only in certain areas, its not a big problem but i live in the basement and the noise is apmlified b/c it is a above me, this is very annoying and i was wondering if anybody knew the cause of this. My dad thinks it is the nails that are rubbing against the floor boards underneath the carpeting, from the basement you can see nails that missed the floor joyces and are exposed (sloppy nailer). Well i am new to this forum and for the last two months i have learned a lot from you guys. If there is anybody out there that has experienced this, or knows whats going on i would appreciate a holler back. thanks reed
