I have a client that would like have the slab of their new family room addition stained so it can serve as a finish floor. This slab will also have in-floor radiant heat. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Mark

By considering things like energy-efficient mechanicals, window orientation, and renewable energy sources, homes can be evaluated to meet the energy codes. Here's what the IRC has to say.

I have a buddy that does concrete, he colored and stamped his living room to look like 12x12 tile, looks great. I am now riping out my old patio to pour a new slab, we are going to stamp it to look like small stones. Stamping is the way to go for newer look.

*We are considering Rastra or Cempo ICF's for building a 1500 square foot house with radiant floor heat. I just read in the July 2000 issue of Fine Homebuilding that there have been tests done showing the R-values of these ICF's are highly exagerated. I understand that any manufactures will inflate figures slightly but this was stating them to have a lower R-value than a conventional 2x4 wall with fiber glass batts. Has anyone heard any more on this. This was in a side bar written by Scott Gibson and I have sent an e-mail to him as well.thanks in advance,Craig
