I would like to get a couple of types of stainless steel nails for my nail gun from McFeely’s, but I won’t ever go through anything approaching a box of nails. I have a PC 350 round head framing nailer, and the 15 guage trim nailer (I need to double check exactly which trim nailers I have).
Anyway, is there anyone interested in a nail swap or something? I need some nails for fencing to start. I have a box of nails for the framing nailer and I’d gladly part with many of them in a swap. I’m willing to order the nails and then sell partial boxes, or whatever.
ps I know I can get non nailgun nails, but there is a reason I want the ones for the nail gun.

I got a bunch of the 8d type 304 ring shanks from SwanSecure:

IIRC, they're 25 nails per stick, and just under 11 cents per nail. How many do you need?

Here is the catch - I need short ones, the 2" jobs. The way our fence is built the rails are 2X3 turned on edge and face nailed to the post. Add the fence pieces at just over 1/2", and 2" is the max.I need no more than 250 or so, 10 sticks. In reality, 6 sticks would probably be plenty. But are they the short ones? Thanks!
No, they're the 2 1/2" ones.

Yeah, that is what I was afraid of. So you see why I don't want to buy a box - I've got exactly one use for the nails.
I have a few ( less than a dozen) sticks of SS 2'' trim nails that'll work in yer PC trimmer...if that helps.
While on the subject, I need some coil siding nails for my MAX at 2" in SS if anyone can find them........

Wow! I am impressed. I have not shopped there in the past.
Stupid qustion #2006...whats the diff in the ss 30( sumptin) and 316? I am doing Hardie plank with Trex trim.
This is on my house, so I am the customer paying for the difference.

304 and 316 are two different alloys. 316 is about 50% more expensive, and only needed in severe conditions, like near the beach with lots of salt in the mist.

Roger that. We have been driving SS screws all week for a gutter job with custom fabbed hangers of Cu, the supplier sent #6x3/4'' RHWS in silicon bronze slotted head...8 screws in ea. tail hanger...wrong. We used PHWS in #8 x 3/4" SS Combo head, and drove them in w/impact, vs. a slippery slot head.
I think I drove 2000 or so.
I am gonna get the 3600 SS 2'' nails for the MAX as we speak, thanks.

You're welcome ....
What became of the couple thousand slot head screws? Not that I really need them at the moment. They'd be ideal for some kind of historical restoration job where period accuracy is important and the heads are highly visible. For anything else, they're just too much trouble. Maybe some of the folks over at Knots could use them.

I have them handy..LOL they aint cheap, but TECHNICALLY they belong to the HO. They came in boxes of a hundred each. I am accountable for their disposal, but Grant dropped a Cnote and more on the SS screws..so it's up in the air right now I guess.
I did use them where they are exposed on the outer rake rafters, just so they will weather like the hangers...here is what I installed.

we used a slew of bracket-G w/4 sq. the very last one on the page..BTW they are now about 30.00 a pop.

Boy I'm glad to get that link. The number of times I've tried to stop people from putting fastners into the ends of rafters, and tried to explain what those brackets are...
http://www.manasquanfasteners.com prices are almost 1/2 that of Swan

How do the prices at Manasquane compare to McFeeley's?
Manasquan consistently has the best prices, though it's best check shipping charges from dealer to dealer.

I briefly looked at one item, joist hangers, and Manasquan was almost twice as expensive, but they did include fastners while McFeeley's did not. Since I need screws for the fastners, I'll be using McFeeley's but I'll be sure to check the price of more items.
Tool crib has them.
I bought a box of 2" ss ring shanks. They are mini coils (100/coil) 3600 nails to the box. I believe they are Bostitch. I might be willing to part with all of them, or just a few coils.
I paid $85, interested?
I THINK I need 15 ( insert degree do-hicky) angle for the MAX..but to cut to the chase, yes.
Plastic or wire? I hate plastic.
If they fly, I'll take all ya got..Hitachi coils fit the Max, I might could trade or sumptin, I have ( and Grant does too) cases of 2 3/8 " Galvy RS siding nails. They are too long for Hardie into OSB and studdage. Great for shake roofing..want a case?

The nails are C6R90BDSS bostitch wire collated. I forgot that I used some of just one coil, so there are 3500 in the box. They fit the Max, I bought them for my Hitachi NV65AH. I bought them to nail hardie, but thought them to be a bit excessive since they will be blind nails.
Right now, I have all the nails I need. Make me an offer.

Trim nails probably don't have the ring shank do they? Given the softness of these fence pieces, probably better if I just spring for a box and then offer up the extras. But I'd probably still buy your 2" trim nails. Are ya'll coming out to fix the gutter on my carriage house?
Fix gutter? HHAAHAHAHHA..no.
We don't fix anything, we replace it properly..LOL
Lemme see if I can find the trim nails...I think I saw them in the van a few weeks ago. I do remember the box was REAL light, so maybe not a lot in there.

Actually, it is fix the water problem.Ain't no gutter there. No overhang either. But there is a big walnut tree over it. Lots of stuff to pull anything off.Anyway, Grant should have the pictures by now. Hopefully ya'll can think of something that will work and stay in place.
Oh well then I guess we ARE..LOL
I was just at his shop this am and we didn't discuss it. I DO know I have miles of gutter in the very near future tho'.
Cool, road trip!

Grant probably took one look at the pictures and thought no way.I swear, I have no idea what the right fix for this is. You should have seen the ivy on the walls, and the tree growing out of the mortar joint over the electrical service when we bought the place.
