hello every one,i am trying to figure out a good way to attach a cut out stringer to the header but am having difficulties because it comes to just below the header.the outside stringers fit nice to the header but the middle cut out one is short due to the fact that the first step is not at the landing level, any ideas or did i just mess up my calculations?

I'm not quite visualizing your situation, but here's a suggestion or 2 anyway.
First, I guess I don't understand why the 3rd string doesn't meet the header. If the 3 strings were all cut the same, and for a straight run, they should have been, there should be no problem.
However, my dad used to tell me that a good carpenter knows how to fix his mistakes, so here's a couple of ideas. Sometimes I'll add a cleat to the bottom of the header to catch the string. I run either vertically or horizontally, depending on what's needed. Use heavy screws (NOT sheetrock screws) and plenty of construction adhesive to fasten it all together. Or if the height is off, you can add a piece to the bottom of the string. If all else fails, just cut another string. That might actually be faster than messing around trying to get the other one to work.
Good luck.
I doubt that you messed up your calculations but this is what I do for stringers if I'm understanding what your saying.
