I was wondering if anyone has used the stairtool gage to make patterns for a custom staircase. I just ordered one and hope that it will be worth the money. I know that alot of people build thier own but I didn’t want to take the time.

By "stair tool guage" do you mean something like a router template to plough out housed stringers? Or are you talking about something more sophisticated like the tools that the German company C.F. Scheer makes?
We make our own router templates out of MDF or ABS plastic but I think we may go with something from Scheer within the next year or so.
....Or it occurs to me are you talking about something like a
Wheaton Tools PL200 Stair Wizard for fitting treads?
