A section of handrail sandwiched with dunnage to make an alingment tool for boring fittings to meet straight rail. i just clamp it on and get a perfect bore each time. The lag screw driver that theads on to the screw is handier than drop seat underware, a touch of bowl wax and that dude take lots of work out of fittings.
here are some nice simple brackets for bending handrail, just rectangular tubing and a few screws and clamps, it is always easier to pull the handrail to the inside of the radius, in my opiniob.
we have a mortising chisel rigged to an air chisel for making square holes for wrought iorn ballusters. and my starett builders square for setting pitch and such.
Love the air hammer idea. How did you attach it?
tapered the bit shank on a lathe so that it fits tight inside the recoil spring.
