The stairs in the manse of our church are very warn and abused pine. We are installing hardwood flooring in most of the home but do not fully understand our options for the stair treads. We clearly do not want to rebuild the stairs by replacing the stair treads.
Any suggestions on how to make them look more compatible with the new hardwood flooring? Our only current option is to leave them carpeted, which will look pretty dumb.
