I’ve aquired several sets of concrete stamps over the last few years… but I’ve been doing alot of score’n and stain’n so just never felt like it was time to play with the stamps…
yesterday… i formed a small 7×7 covered entrace area where the main doors and access control directory will be… and figured what the heck… i gave the area a 1″ drop away from the doors for whatever wind driven rain might get in…. has an 8×8 awning which prevents most of this anyway…
i chose the textured surface cobble stone stamps… mixed and placed the concrete with a floated and edged surface… let stand for an hour or so… and stamped… use’n the pads and a standard hand tamp… the concrete might have been a little wet in one area and maybe a bit firm in another…. i used mineral spirits as a release agent with no color or powder…. I’ll stain & seal it in the next day or so… not perfect but turned out very well…. IMHO
took maybe 15min to stamp this small area… no real skill or science… I’m sure i’ll use these stamps alot more…. I have 6 small patios to place in the next few weeks i’m sure i’ll size them to fit my pads so they should be a pretty simple deal…
always cool when you are pleased with your own work… really is… when things really are as simple as they seem they should be..

sobriety is the root cause of dementia.
I'm sure you've noticed the incredible variation in ceement colors, patterns and treatments.
I also notice that people struggle with the "best" choices when the whole landscape theme is brought together. Coupled with the normal variations with these techniques, not everyone is happy with the results.
What I'm getting to is:
The need for a Hardscape Designer. Someone with landscape design and ceement forming, laying, coloring, etc. experience.
A new career for many of you out there!
