I tried your method of dowel screwing the balisters down (incline rail)and putting rail down on over them. It was a circle stairs with colonial rail and would have been as floppy as a noodle if I hadn’t done it that way. I was amazed at the difference it made in stiffening the rail. You definatly need to add a couple hours on the job but it’s worth it. Thanks for the tip!
