I have been doing remodeling on my own now for about five years. Although I love it, I don’t want to swing the hammer much longer. I have been thinking about building custom homes, but I’m not sure the best way to get started. Any suggestions?

I knew a guy who traded in his tool belt and became a builder of custom homes. Whenever I saw him he complained about all of the work he had to do "swinging a hammer" to fix problems left by his subs! He worked 12+ hours a day, started drinking heavily, and last I heard, he'd filled for bankruptcy.
I suppose the grass is always greener...
Build on what you have and your strengths.
