Dear experienced tilers:
I need your help to settle an argument. I’m installing a steam shower and have been given two suggestions on how to prepare the floor of a steam shower –
#1, 3/4″ plywood subfloor, drain flange, mud, cement board, mud and then tile which is later grouted and sealed.
# 2, same as above but vinyl membrane between flange and first mud.
Both tilers assure me of their arguments. Anyone out there have experience installing a steam shower and can help settle this argument before I go the wrong way and have to tear out a big mistake?

Wow, what's the one guy thinking not installing a liner???
Just gonna let the water drip through the floor??
Many ways...........
Sub floor, tarpaper, pre-slope, liner membrane, (edit)clamp drain assembly to membrane, mud base, tile.
Shcluter makes a system that will water proof that guys mud base with no liner beaneath. The Schluter System waterproofs from on top of the mud base.

If you look at the little grey horizontal bar above where you type the post there is a button labeled SIZE.
You can choose your font size there. This is size 1.

Like I tried to say no matter what size I select when I click post it may come up an entirely different size when it goes through. I sometime have to select size 5 or 6 times before I get any size at all. This only happens on the Breaktime forum. Every one I ask has no ideas what is causing this. You have any thoughts?
Likely your browser. But I'm no techie.
What you are using now is not offensive, but in bold it becomes a bit annoying to others as well as myself.
You could always try forums help.
Have a good day.
