Hey Dan, actually that is what I am doing now to my walk in showere. I am just a homeowner so this is my first experience at it but I found the company Steamist has a web site with alot of info. Somewhere in their web site they have reccomendations on building a room, pretty basic though it helped me out.

Dan - I've done several. As I recall some of the steam generator manufacturers include details with their literature.
Most important details (aside from safety, etc.):
b Tent the ceiling
(not flat or condensation will drip on you)
b Seal the door
Good luck - Jeff

Dan-
Talk to a custom glass Co. that makes doors for costs and ideas.
A good unit revolves around the door and how well it works.
Also seating is key.
The options for design are endless and that's the fun.
The one I built had an operational vented door loosely based on the angle shower base concept.
Big enough for two,a tiled seat about 5' wide.I
put the steam unit in a soffit above the shower
to lower the ceiling and house the unit. Make sure you have a place to send the pressure relief line that is safe.
Have fun. Cal
