Steam showers

A client wants me to install a steam shower in new construction. One piece fiberglass unit. We are in an area with hard water. I claim she will have lots of maintenance problems down the road, ever if we install a water softener. Anyone have experience with these units?

    We use water softeners a lot. I can't say theres a lot of maintenance. Reload with salt every couple of months and backflush the system. 10 min. work.
