I put on alot of metal roofing from BHP and Metal Sales , here in Alaska. I don't have any addresses or phone numbers but they are both out of Seattle .
They have various colors and styles to choose from.
Good luck, Dave
*I need to learn how to construct cornice returns. And, in a more general sense, is there a good book on building roofs but with an emphasis on finishing the roof r.e. trim work, details, installing soffets, returns, mouldings, rake boards etc. I am building a woodshop with a 10:12 pitch. What is the angle (in degrees) for 10:12...any good reference materials I can use to determine it? thank you. -tom
*tom:A 12:12 pitch roof is 45 degrees. Therefor 1:12 is 45 divided by 12 or 3.75 degrees and 10:12 is 3.75 times 10 or 37.5 degrees.
*Hi Gert, you are lucky to live in Vancouver B.C. Just ask the Roofing Contractor Association Of British Columbia in Langley B.C. about it or check out their website @ rcabc.org. This is a professional trade organization with a full training program, installation standards , and material standards. They can point you in the right direction
*Tom The angle a 10/12 roof makes with horizontal is 39.8degrees. The arctan of the cut gives you the angle.Taunton Store most likely has the book you seek. Jonathan, your method could cost you severely6/12 cut is not 22.5 degrees.Check it out with your speed square. Obtain a text on rafter framing. The information learned will last a lifetime. Good luck Rocky
*Gert, whatever you do, look into a "standing seam" roof, not the other kind.
*It's a garage for twenty five years for cryin out loud!
