Has anyone here had any install problems with Sterling (made by Kohler) plumbing fixtures? I’ve just about put my whole investment property back together and the ONLY major problems i’ve had, have been with my two Sterling pieces.
I have a Sterling stainless steel sink. They changed the fastening system. No “u” channel and nice, easy, happy screw type brackets. Now we have a mean evil slot with plastic clips that really enjoy falling out. These “wonder clips” are even designed so thoughtfully as to include 5/16″ nuts instead of screw tips. This made install very fun with only one 4″ extension in the tool box.
All in all that sink took about an hour more than normal to install.
Next we move to the bathroom. New “Sterling” corner shower glass & nickel door. After the better part of the day and three calls to Kohler, its still not able to close without SLAMMING. The door is not racked but wide in the middle. Their solution, “just wack your new glass door with a mallet”. Didn’t work, so now there sending me a new door.
Anyone else have a favorite manufacturer?
Thanks really needed to vent this.
