I recently broke a piston ring on a low hours Stihl Farm Boss chain saw and now need to replace it. Has this happened to anyone else? I’m trying to decide whether to replace it with the same model or try a different one. Using the same model lets me use the spare parts already in inventor.

I haven't hear of anyone breaking a piston ring on a saw. sounds like a fluke. I'd try an OME ring and see what happens.
PANIC CHAOS DISORDER.........my work is done here.
if its a low hour saw just put new rings in and go back to work.provider no cylinder damage. you were using the proper mixed fuel i hope. if the rings aren't broken but are carbonrd into the piston use premium gas and stihl or husky mix oil.
