This will be my last post on this. Whoever’s moderating this evening is continuing the problem as evidenced by the fact that they closed the above thread even as I was composing a reply.

Here’s what I took the time to write:

Thanks Hammer and Dan 🙂 I administer an unrelated forum site elsewhere. The job of helping newcomers out is a regular part of doing business. I accept that as an uncompromisable part of the responsibility for having charge over other people’s discussions.

Hammer I agree it’s Taunton’s ‘house’ but as a paying users we’re all more than invited guests. I’ve already developed high expectations about the quality of this resource from the fast and impressive number of helpful responses so many people have kindly made to my questions.

I did some searching and quite a number of various users over the last few years mentioned problems with responsiveness from Taunton about moderation issues and hidden forums.

I don’t know that my inquiries will get any further but that’s not a reason to walk away from a responsibility to submit an appeal, thoughtfully and respectfully. Especially after having encountered the same problems myself now.
