I’m a contractor that is looking for some feedback on a patio that I’m constructing for my own house. I’m building a cedar deck with a cultured stone wall around it. Also is a spa area that will have grouted in stone floor on top of 4-5″ of concrete. I don’t want stamped concrete and can’t find any natural stone that the wife likes. What I do plan on doing is to use cultured stone, hearth stones as pavers around the spa and as a cap stone on the walls. The manufacture does have a pitched cap stone but the wife wants to put flower pots on top. I called the manufacture about doing hearth stones in these applications and they advise against it and won’t guarantee it if I do. I was told I can use water wash patio stones and was told the only difference between patio stones and hearth stones was that patio stones were rated for 6,000psi and hearth stones at 4,000psi. I an also planing on treating the stone with a sealer.
Any thoughts on this or anyone do any similar projects in the past, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Mark

I would not use them the colour is very thin and the surface is brittle and would come off and expose the interior. also if they are scraped you'll lose the colour
