I need Ideas for storage specifically for a small shop. I got paint stuff down, but how do you store electric wire?
a tip I have is two shelf bracets screwed to the celing and a pole running between them to hold my screen and 6″ wide Ice and Water for easy rolling out.
Ductape can fix EVERYTHING!!!

I store boxes of romex on shelves.
I saw (and have used) a tip for storing small amounts of moulding. Sections of pvc drain pipe (about 4" long) were fastened to the ceiling on about 4' centers. Slide the moulding in from one end.
Another hint, one that takes a lifetime to learn, is DON'T STORE EVERYTHING. Get rid of it instead.I'm still learning.

Disagree on that one,...
it takes a lifetime to collect enough so that you dont often have to go buy anything <G>
Getting rid of stuff is like throwing money away IMHO, unless it really is trash.

It's almost orgasmic when I can dig around and find everything I need for a honeydew project without a trip to the store.

"Get rid of it" doesn't necessarily mean throwing it away. I give lots of good junk to the Salvation Army. And the H4H "ReStore" will take building materials.

Agreed. If I have a hold on stuff that has no use to me, I'd better give it away, recycle it, or put it in a landfill. I might need the stuff later, but I need neat and organized storage NOW.

I'm an old guy too, and so far never learned to throw stuff out. Sometimes I give it away or sell it, if I know someone needs it, and won't just store it away or - shudder - trashcan it. The pile is getting pretty big. Built a new shed last year...
When I was doing excavation I would end up with various metal objects - steel culverts I had replaced etc. After a few months I would contact a friend that ran a scrap yard. He would come around and load up. Good for him and good for me.
I pick up aluminum scrap pretty often. Sometimes when I need the cash or space, it's off to the junkyard. Got $12 for a radiator that was sitting out by the trash the other day.
But small coils of wire, of course, can be stored on any sort of hook or rod. Larger amounts are better stored in a box on a shelf.
