Question: Does it matter if ya roll carpet backing side INWARD or outward, when rolling some to keep in storage for a later date/use?
What I’ve got is some leftover pile carpet that I ripped outta my living room, but it is the same stuff as is in my bedrooms…and I saved a good peice of it from the LR perimeter as it was least ‘used’ and had NO carpet stains visible on backside, from prior owners’ pets… and I’d like to store this remnant piece in my attic.
It’s not THAT big a piece, and so it flexes enough for me to roll it either way.
SO, DOES IT matter which way I roll it before I stash it up in my attic?
And, if I wrap it in plastic (like 2-3mil) to keep additional dust bunnies off it – is that ok?
TIA

I have stored carpet for several years rolled up the way it comes from the factory, and covered in plastic. It looked like new when I put it down.
ok thanks!DUM SPIRO SPERO: "While I breathe I hope"
Mud Daubers will crawl across a mile of broken glass on their bellies for the opportunity to build really big, zombie-spider filled mud condos inside carpet rolls....

Throw a few mothballs into the package to discourage the mice. With your record for attracting pests, you will get some...8>)
note to self:
add mothballs to the wallyworld shopping list!
(dang that list is getting LONG!)
and yeah, I do seem to attract WAY too many pests. Would be happy to share! Need some?DUM SPIRO SPERO: "While I breathe I hope"
Thanks anyway, but I have my own, CT type pests, so I don't need AK ones as well! I also have 2 small terriers, both constantly on the alert for home invaders. The Cairn ate a wasp a couple of weeks ago - didn't even seem to notice the sting.
