Agent looking after the renting of our house in Raleigh had service person over to repair frayed wire for gas stove burner ignitor. Same serviceperson says stove is not vented to outside and ergo not to code and not safe since no place for gas to go out. New one on me!
It’s a GE gas stove, convection oven with same style GE combo microwave/range hood. Never heard of exterior venting being a requirement. Never even heard of hood being a requirement. Am I missing something?
Let’s not confuse the issue with facts!

So far as I know, gas stoves haven't had to be vented since the 30's, although local areas can add stuff.
But I wouldn't have a gas stove which wasn't vented, myself.
The one gas appliance which we don't require to be vented is also allowed to produce the most CO.
Go figure.
(Well, "ventless" heaters are allowed in most places, but that's commerce's contribution to Darwinism, I guess)
The "War on Terrorism" has failed - in part by narrowing our options to only the option of last resort.
I propose we start a worldwide Partnership Against Terror, in which the reasonable people of the world work together to oppose terrorism and the conditions which lead people to that desperate condition.
