I’m rebuilding my basement and I want to know what size strapping I should use on the ceiling to hang drywall? It’s a post and beam house that is built with 4×10 joists on four foot centres.
Thanks

Yes, 2x4 on the flat spaced 16" should work. I would not use 1x lumber with that much span.
4x10 joists on 4 foot centres??? your flooring must be mighty thick to span that without deflecting?
It's a mid century home. The subfloor on the main is tonge and groove 2x6 cedar
