Good Morning Everyone,
Got a question I am building a detached garage in my backyard and the footings and walls are going in in a few days. My question is will a cement truck coming down my 6 month old driveway destroy the driveway. The dirt around the drive way is wet and has alot of clay in it. This fall has been unusally wet on Cape Cod any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. By the way I watched the crew put down the driveway there was several inches of road pack rolled out and approx 3″ of asphalt also rolled out and this was in late spring.
Thank You everyone in advance,
John

Via wheelbarrows or a pump. Otherwise, I'd put ruts in grass before a new driveway. Much easier to fill and repair sod.
If you are pouring it yourself, rent a couple of motorized geogia buggys or dump carts and get more help than you planned on. If a contractor is pouring it for you, don't let him bring a concrete truck on the driveway, unless he will accept liability for damage to it.
What you have is not adquate for the weight of a ready mix truck. Most of them will not use a driveway like yours unless you sign a release for them. If you have room beside the driveway, go ahead and rutt the yard, or even your neighbors if you are friends and are willing to fix it for them.
