Help, I’m building a custom three story- 2×6 with 1/2’cdx sheathing
the plywood overhangs the wall to cover the joist system and sill plate,
9′ ft. ceilings so the 2nd and 3rd story overlaps are nice. Here’s the problem- I the stucco contractor brought out his supplier who say there must be a kerf through the plywood where the wall sits on the sub floorr at eachfloor. HeHe says this is to keep the sheathing from bowing out the stucco when the weight of the roof andry wallall compress twalls. ThisThis is three coat stucco fSOT SOT . All my instincts tell me not to saw the housethirds. Tos. To not do saw would void their wonderful 3 warranty. anyoneanyone have some advice, input?
