Just saw the item on Studor air-release valves in FHB. I am building in a rural area with a code-approved septic system already in place. These valves seem ideal for my DIY interior plumbing installation–save days of work and avoid puncturing my roof. Why are these not in wide use? Is there a downside? Specifically, will they work with a septic system? And where does all that methane go? With thanks to all you plumbers….
