I am finishing my basement and adding a bathroom. In the rest of the space I am doing a foam insulation topped with ply sub-floor.
I am going to be putting down porcelain in the bathroom and not sure what do do for the sub floor. I need to know the thickness as well so I can have the turlet flange set at the proper height.
The slab will be new and i should be able to make it pretty much completely level. View Image
Any ideas?
Thanks

In 1978 we put down a ceramic tile floor in our downstairs (basement) bathroom. Straight-forward tile on thinset on the original poured concrete.
It's still in perfect condition, save for the tiny nick where I dropped a putty knife on it about 2 years back.
It's now recommended to use an isolation membrane over the concrete, which I'd probably do if I were doing it now.
I don't know how the picture would change with porcelain.
