putting down 3/8 ply for bath underlayment before tile goes down. should I use some sub floor glue ? I was planning to just screw it down.

You can use a flex thinset, troweled down and then screw the underlayment down or you can use PL Premium in dabs every 6" - 8" and then screwed down.
