Hello,
Greeitngs from Amsterdam.I am wondering about my heating system here and as it is so different from my forced air system back in california I have a little trouble understanding if my system is big enough. I did a test the other nite in our living room(15’x15’x 11.5’high).We have 2 wall mounted radiators and the temp rose 1 degree celsius every 45 mintues. That seems very slow to me.We have the typical euro wall mounted heater that heats the water as it passes thru and then sends it to the radiators.Does that seem slow to anyone else and how is the size of the heater you need determined? cubic meters? Maybe larger radiators or a bigger heater.I would like to know and getting a straight answer here can sometimes be alittle difficult.
thanks , dan

Dear Dan,
If you are comfortable under extreme weather conditions, your heating system is adequate.
There are ways to guess heat loss in a building and scale the heaters for the climate and site exposure.
Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I've seen 2000 square feet of living area heated perfectly with 20k btu/hr. Another 2000 square feet might be intolerable with 120k btu/hr. Keeps me on my toes.
Are you having problems that led you to these concerns and tests?
