I’m installing select grade pine door and window trim. The finish will be left natural with an application of polyurethane varnish. Can anyone suggest a brand/type of wood filler for the nail holes?

Scott, Something to consider when choosing the color of the wood filler......Your wood is very light colored now, but after a few years it will darken significantly. If you match the wood color now, your light colored nail holes will stand out as dots all over your trim as the wood darkens. Unless you want to re-do them, I would use a darker filler now.

Joe, I agree, it's kind of tough to predict what your future color is going to be. It's been my experience that the poly mellows the very light color of the raw wood and then it takes only a couple of years to turn to a much deeper (and better looking) patina. Sounds like a compromise color is in order!
