HI
I am looking at redoing two small roofs, one flat and one with very little pitch. One is over a garage and the other a converted sleeping porch. One has mopped hot tar and the other tar and gravel. I am thinking of a roll on polymer or elastomer without a rubber underlayment and was wondering what kind of luck people have had (I will obviously remove the gravel etc.). I do not want to hassle with the underlayment as there are multiple protrusions including racks for solar panels. Having a white or light colored product is also desirable as is a green product if available. The roofs will both need to be changed in the next 5-10 years so I do not need anything too substantial. The home is in the SF Bay Area so does not get too hot or any snow or much freezing. There is one small spot on the flat roof that puddles. Can anyone recommend what type of roofing product should be used (and even a brand or two?)? I have read the forum and seen mixed reviews on the roll on elastomers and polymers but much of the discussion was based on repairing metal roofing. There are also no valleys in the roofs needing repair.
Thanks
Rob

Ames "Snow Seal"
I used Ames "Snow Seal", about fifteen years ago to fix the roof of my aunts travel trailer.
It is still hasn't leaked again.
