Good Day All,
My wife just bought a house here in Grand Forks B.C. late 60’s early 70’s era, but it has a Heil DV high efficiency furnace prsumable added in the last decade ( no records anywhere). The Model # NTG 9075 FGA3 if that means anything to anybody.
Is there a way to use this type of furnace to circulate air (fan only) like on older types that had a summer setting?
Other thing is I can’t find a furnace shut down switch anywhere on the ground floor ( walk-out basement) or in the basement. Is this necessary? Was it just an oversight when new furnace installed? Do I need to install one?
Thanks in advance, so long from Grand Forks, gtw

does the thermostat have a switch on it marked fan and auto?
WHW,
No mon, there is just a White-Rodgers mercury switch thermostat.
The reasons I am asking about this, my wife* has got a programmable thermostat that is on the Do It Expeditiously or --- list. Since I am here now ( have been going walkabout lately) the list has grown exponentially over the winter!
Here in Grand Forks, B.C. we are at about 36c and not a breath of wind.
* ( her house - me no live there, long story, tell you all one day, Luka if you read this, same problems here, may I e-mail you ?)

BTW understand about your gob, did the same last year, self medication, saw Dr. Friday afternoon, oral anti's, didn't realize it was a long weekend, Tuesday at E-ward, immediate admission (rare in Canada), intro-antis +morph, Thursday told I had to wait until following Monday for O.R time, by now I was ballistic, refuse morph at 6.00 on Friday morning so I could use phone, called old dentist in Nelson (was in hospital in Trail, 100 kliks), she had already had patients booked that morning in O.R. if I could get there she would do me last, meanwhile no ambulance available to take me there, so I had to phone my wife to transport me. Still on I.V. luckily the nurses on duty realized what was happening and just before my wife arrived made sure I had enough in me to last the 1 1/2 hr. drive. Straight in when I arrived, woke up in the ICU with a mate of mine (male-nurse) standing over me cos I didn't come out of the anaesthesia, lost an eye-tooth that looked like it came out of a beast. My cheek collapsed because of all the infection and I am still having problems.
ALL BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY UPFRONT AT NEW DENTIST
However because it was a hospital job it was covered here in Canada ( luckily, as I am on disability), may I ask what you expect this to cost you in the U.S.
Not being nosey, it just pisses me off that all the carpenters, workers, artisans here have the worst teeth and the most problems, as they have no group coverage, (except union , if your in) individual coverage is just too expensive. At 50 I can barely chew I've lost so many nashers, at this rate it won't matter if I have to eat tinned cat food when " I'm old" cos at this rate it will be easier on my tongue.
Just pisses me off that health problems like this could be sorted out for a few hundred dollars, not the thousands it cost ( the governmess ) because I could not afford to go to the dentist!
Sorry about that mon, got a little long winded, so long for now, Trevor
