Looking for a machine , sander or planer , that accepts butcher blocks 24″high by 24″ wide. Using router jig surfacing method now.

Never heard of a machine that will accept a piece 24" high. Could be wrong though.
A local shop might have a stroke sander for sale...big azz belt that you can remove the sliding table that is under it...belts are about 16' long or longer
LOts of older machinery had planers that could handle that capacity. Oliver machinery for one. Look them up on the web.... http://www.oliverused machinery.com... and search for a 30 inch planer. They made one with an electric powered table unit that could easily handle a 24 inch thickness X 30 inches wide. Northfield and other old brands also made large planers that would work.
