Has anyone ever applied SW Builders Solution using just a roller. I am fixing a drywall taping job which was seriously botched by the homeowner. Can’t spray it on.

Hey Jeff, you might try posting this on the Drywall Forum at jlconline.com. I know I've seen it asked about before. Good luck!

Do a search here on D-mix.
Bill,Thanks for the suggestion. I completed the job using D-Mix. All I can say is that I have a very happy customer. The ceiling came up perfectly smooth.I finished in record time and will definitely add this to my bag of tricks. Jeff
what is SW Builders Solution?
Sherwin-Williams says you can.

I wouldn't expect miracles. I'd plan on a nice thick 2 coat, skim coat, then 3rd coat of paint. I'm not sure what your meaning of "botched" is but mine would mean mud knives coming out of the truck and HO's wallet getting stomped on.
Botched..... lets just say we will be doing a lot... i mean a lot of sanding.... and then basically redoing it all ... i am looking at Builder's Solution for the ceiling... they went crazy with the screws up there and it is supposed to be a flat/untextured ceiling and they are up lighting. First thought was to skim coat the whole thing, but i was wondering about Builders Soution as an alternative. And .... yes its going to cost them.... but I am trying to be nice so they have cause i just signed them up for a new bathroom
Oh yeah I love the stuff. I don't even ask anymore. If I'm doing the job, I'm spraying it. It fixes enough things in the world when it comes to paint down the road.
As to your particular question, sure, you could roll it. I think at that point you're not accomplishing a great deal more than you would with any other primer. Part of the appeal of the stuff is the ability to spray it thick enough to achieve that smooth level 5 finish and prime simultaneously. But you're not going to get 18 mils on a wall with a roller. Not without 6 or 7 coats.
And, the taping job, I don't know what your intent is with this, but it wont fix bad tape, or divots, or gouges. Small things, like sanding scratches, pinholes, air bubbles, that all goes away. But if its a bad tape job there isnt enough lipstick for that pig to go to the prom.
If you want to know about spraying it, shout. No small pumps allowed.
